On Friday last week,
we saw the release of the Emraan Hashmi, Nargis Fakhri and Prachi Desai starrerAzhar.
Directed by Tony D'Souza, the film which is based on the life of ex-Indian
cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin received positive reviews from the critics.
In this box office report, we take a look at the Opening Weekend collections of Azhar while comparing them to Emraan Hashmi's previous releases. The film managed to collect Rs. 20.80 cr on its Opening Weekend, thus coming in the sixth place behind Emraan's previous releases like Raaz 3 that collected Rs. 36.02 cr, The Dirty Picture that collected Rs. 32.70 cr, Jannat 2 that collected Rs. 24.03 cr, Murder 2 that collected Rs. 22.35 cr and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai that collected Rs. 22.01 cr.
However, the film does manage to surpass Opening Weekend collections of Emraan Hashmi's other releases like Ek Thi Dayaan that collected Rs. 18.07 cr, Raja Natwarlal that collected Rs. 17.40 cr andHamari Adhuri Kahaani that collected Rs. 16.49 cr.
